Emmaus villa is an institute dedicated for the education and rehabilitation of mentally challenged children. It was started in the year 1980 on December 8th in the diocese of Manathavady, Kerala, India. It is run by St. Thomas Province of the religious Congregation of the Malabar Missionary Brothers. The Institute is located in 4 km from Mananthavady town in Mananthavady – Kozhikode route. It is situated in Edavaka Grama Panchayath of Mananthavady Taluk in the district of Wayanad. MMB is an indigenous Franciscan congregation started at Trichur in the year 1948 by Msgr. Zacharias Vazhappilly. the objective of our congregation is "Evangelization through humble services." Our Brothers are serving in eight dioceses in north India and nine diocese in south India. they are engaged in teaching catechism, taking care of orphan boys, protecting destitute aged men, training and teaching mentally handicapped children, press and publication, providing vocational training for the unemployed youth, village development activities, training and rehabilitation of juvenile delinquents, Christian arts and crafts etc.
